Overview

Blackmagic MultiViews are the world’s first native Ultra HD multi viewers that let you monitor completely independent SDI video sources on a single HD or Ultra HD display! With full frame re-synchronization on every input, you can monitor any combination of SD, HD and Ultra HD formats and frame rates all at the same time, on the same display. When used with an Ultra HD television, the quad split view gives you four full resolution 1080 HD monitors on a single screen! You also get on screen audio meters, custom view labels and much more!

With 16 completely independent 6G-SDI inputs, Blackmagic MultiView 16 is perfect for larger installations where you need to monitor up to 16 SD, HD and Ultra HD sources at the same time. You get full front panel router style controls, along with an LCD screen and spin knob to adjust settings, route sources to different views, turn on overlays, and more. MultiView 16 can display sources in a 2x2, 3x3 or 4x4 grid, or even in a SOLO view for full screen viewing of any single source!

Multi Rate 6G-SDI Connections

All Blackmagic MultiView models feature multi rate 6G-SDI inputs with full frame re-synchronization and separate loop through outputs, making it compatible with your existing equipment. The SDI inputs automatically detect and re-sync’s SD, HD and Ultra HD formats up to 2160p30. You also get HDMI 2.0 and 6G-SDI for both HD and Ultra HD output. MultiView 16 also includes a reference input connection and blackburst/tri-level sync for studio installations.

Optional Front Panel Controls

Works with Teranex Mini Smart Panels!

Blackmagic MultiView 4 works with the optional Teranex Mini Smart Panel so you can add front panel controls to your MultiView 4! Installation is as simple as swapping the front panel and, once installed, it’s even easier to set up and adjust settings on the fly! The Smart Panel features dedicated buttons, a built in LCD screen and a spin knob so you can turn on custom labels, audio meters, borders, tally and more! You can even adjust settings such as the IP address and output video format right from the front panel!

Teranex Mini Size

Use all the accessories for Teranex Mini!

MultiView 4 is the same size as Blackmagic Design’s Teranex Mini range of 12G-SDI converters. This means you can use the Teranex Mini Rack Shelf for rack mounting the MultiView 4 and even combine multiple MultiView 4 models on the same rack shelf, or combine with a mix of Teranex Mini converters and MultiViews. The choice is yours! If you are in critical broadcast environments where you need to be able to change settings at any time then you can also add the Teranex Mini Smart Panel. This gives you full access to all MultiView 4 settings in easy to use graphical menus that are simpler and faster to use than the switches on the default panel.

External “Router” Control

Supports Videohub router protocol for easy external control!

MultiView 16 emulates a Blackmagic Videohub router so you get full compatibility with all of the external Videohub software and hardware control panels for any of the inputs to the monitoring views! Both models can also be controlled via the included software utility on Mac or Windows computers so you can quickly change settings. You can even add on screen labels and other settings remotely!

Super fast flexible front panel control!

When you're working in a master control room, you need to be able to quickly switch views on the fly. Setting up and using MultiView 16 could not be easier! There are no confusing menus or cryptic buttons. The front panel has 16 simple buttons, one for each of your video sources and you can quickly place any source into the grid by using the LCD, spin knob, and SRC / VIEW buttons. There's even a SOLO button for instantly viewing a single source!

External Software Control

Get full control form your Mac or Windows computer

All Blackmagic MultiViews can be connected to a standard Ethernet IP network and uses the control panel software! That means you can control them, even if they're in a hard-to-reach rack, hidden in cable trays, or on the other side of the world! The software uses attractive, easy to understand icons and push buttons, making it simple and intuitive to use. You can easily add router labels to your output, view tally indicators and more!

 When you're working in a larger facility, you may want to control your Blackmagic MultiView 16 from a location other than the front panel itself. It's easy because MultiView 16 includes the Blackhole Videohub protocol for external control, so you can control it using Blackmagic Design's Videohub Smart Control or Videohub Master Control hardware panels! Simply plug the control panel into the Ethernet network for push button control! You can even use the Blackmagic Videohub client software for onscreen push buttons and buttons. The Videohub software can also manage and create custom labels.

Connect multi view in line with your SDI feeds for easy installation!

The future proof design of Blackmagic MultiView includes 6G-SDI inputs with low jitter and automatic frame re-synchronization on all inputs. Each loop output is also re-clocked so you can put the SDI equipment in a single live production switcher, or view the output of other SDI equipment without having to use up additional dedicated router outputs. You get HDMI 2.0 and 6G-SDI outputs that can be switched between HD or Ultra HD. MultiView 16 even has an extra HD-SDI output so you can monitor both HD and Ultra HD at the same time!

The built-in power supply supports 90V to 240V AC so it can be used anywhere internationally and just when plugged in. The Blackmagic MultiView is a premium multi-voltage power supply that can handle a wide range of voltages. MultiView 4 can also be powered over Ethernet when connected to a PoE + compatible switch!
