Overview:
The McLelland AVS-401 is a simple, flexible and reliable 4-
channel Audio/ Video Switcher which designed specifically your home theater or
video editing system, such as VCRs, DVD players, or CD players.
- The AVS-401 is built with
high-quality components for maximum performance and reliability, including
gold-plated RCA phono jacks for best video and audio signal quality.
- For added convenience, the
selector features separate push buttons for source selection and LED indicators
for each channel.
- A front panel is also included the
terminal block connector for remote control of the unit.
Front Panel Features:
The MCLELLAND AVS-401 is excellent product in installations where a single set of audio/video signals need to be selected from up to 4 consumer format (phono jack) video and audio sources.Audio and Video sources selection uses all solid state switching; high quality audio and video line driver amplifiers feed the module's output.
- The AVS-401 has four inputs and a single output on the rear panel.
- The four inputs and one output supply one video phono jack and two associated audio phono jacks.
- The input 1 will select automatically when power is first applied to the module.
- Four keyboard style long-life push buttons on the front panel, they used to select one of the inputs at a time.
- When a button is pushed, the corresponding video and audio input is fed to the output of the AVS-401 and any previously selected source is shut off so only one source may be selected at a time.
Rear Panel Features:
The AVS-401 rear panel terminal block provides four connections to remotely control installation. A momentary external closure to ground on an input terminal will select the associated input. The next source selection may be made from either the front panel buttons or from a rear panel terminal.
- It may be controlled from a variety of wall mounted remote controls ,because the remote control terminals require a momentary closure to ground and the AVS-401 can provide it.
- This unit can connect with other Mclelland 4-input modules as a slave or from other switching circuits
- Continuous remote closures will select inputs while source selection on the front panel button can't function.
- There has an internal automatically resetting fuse protects of AVS-401 against damage if the power terminals are accidentally shorted while power terminals are accidentally shorted while power is applied through the DC jack.
- The AVS-401 has four LED indicators above each push button on the front panel and shows which input is selected.
- Whenever the input was selected by remote control or front panel button, it will show result automatically
- The AVS -401 operates from 24 DVC which may be connected either through the DC power jack or the terminal block.
