Overview:

The Samson UM1/77 Micro Diversity System is a high-performance UHF wireless system at prices that make sense for all kinds of video professionals.

Samson UM1 Micro Diversity Receiver

•  The UM1 Micro Diversity receiver operates on the 600 MHz frequency UHF band where there's much less RF interference.
•  Truly compact, it mounts easily onto virtually any type of video camera using the supplied strip of Velcro.
•  It can even be powered directly by the camera's own 12-volt power supply (if available), making it easy to integrate into any traveling or fixed installation video system.
• Equipped with sophisticated circuitry for superior reception and crystal-clear audio, the UM1's wide range of features make it ideal for commercial videographers, corporate and broadcast video professionals.
• The unit includes a pair of tuned antennas and provides both balanced and unbalanced outputs (with three-position output level switch) and a headphone monitor output with continuously adjustable level control. The UM1 also features an audio peak LED, dual receiver indicators and an RF strength meter.
• The UM1 is available in six different channels, all operating in the less crowded UHF bandwidth, so multiple UM1 systems (each tuned to a different channel) can be used in the same location without interference.
•  The true diversity technology on this receiver also maximizes active range (up to 300 feet) and reduces potential interference problems through automatic switching between two independent receivers. Additionally, built-in companding noise reduction in all components ensures crystal-clear sound with minimized background noise and hiss. 
• The UM1/77 is available in a variety of configurations including, handheld systems, lavalier systems & headsets systems. Each system includes Samson's Concert 77 transmitters which feature pioneering technology to stabilize transmission.

Samson UM1 Micro Diversity Receiver Features:

1.) A/B Receiver LED's - When signal is being received,one of these will be lit orange,showing you whether the (left)"A" or (right) "B" receiver is currently being used.

2.) Meter - This set of three multicolor LEDs acts as a meter,indicating either battery power or the strength of the incoming RF signal

3.) Peak LED - This LED lights red when output signal from th UM1 is at the onset of clipping.

4.) Power Switch - Use this to turn the UM1 power on and off.

5.) SQ (Squelch) Level Control - This control determines the maximum range of the UM1 before audio signal dropout.

6.) Battery Holder - Insert a standard 9-Volt Alkaline Battery here,being sure to observe the plus and minus polarity markings shown

7.) Plastic Screwdriver - Specially designed for use in adjusting the UM1 Sqelch Level control

8.) Antennas (A and B) - The antenna mountings allow full rotation for optimum placement.

9.) DC Input - This jack will accept a DC input voltage of 6-13 volts from your video camera.

10.) Unbalanced Output - Use this unbalanced (1K Ohm max.) 1/8" (3.5mm) mini-phone jack when connecting the UM1 to consumer (-10) audio equipment.

11) Audio Output Level Switch - Sets the audio output level of both the balanced and unbalanced outputs to -30 dBm (mic level),-20 dBm or -10 dBm (line level).

12.) Level Control - This knob sets the level of the audio signal being sent to the headphones output.

13.) Headphones Output - Connect a stereo headphone to this standard 1/8" (3.5mm) mini-phone jack in order to monitor the signal being output by the UM1.

14.) Balanced Output - Use this electronically balanced low impedance (600 Ohm) mini-XLR jack when connecting the UM1 to professional (+4) audio equipment.

15.) Meter Switch - This three-position switch determines the function of the front-panel UM1 meter

•  The HT7 also employs a tight supercardioid pickup pattern to reduce feedback and effectively reject signals not originating directly in front of the mic capsule.
