ULTRASONE ZINO HEADPHONES

Headphones are a challenging market to play in; modern accessories focus on mobility and a wide range of function. With every company under the sun producing their own high-end ear buds and headphones, it’s often hard to find the few gems in the flood of products. Ultrasone is one of the latest to step into the lower midrange market with the Zino, a lightweight package delivering impressive statistics and sleek looks. Taking a moment to go over the box, the Zino model uses a semi-open design and brings a fuller frequency range from a claimed 15-25000Hz while delivering 101dB over the 40mm drivers. The only rating we don’t have on our review sheet is the RMS or PMPO wattage rating which leaves us on a strange adventure.

Normally our reviews tailor themselves to the specs, delivering comparisons close to other models we’ve had recently; in this case we’re riding free with only the limits of our ears as the measurement. The goal has changed as well; with headphones used all over the place, we'll test the Zino headset with portable gaming, the Zune and of course in PC use as well over our X-Fi Xtrememusic. Before we jump into the mix let’s hit the officials specs and outline our testing model.
