The BEHRINGER ULTRADRIVE PRO DCX2496 is the ultimate digital loudspeaker management system with an unheard-of audio quality and feature list. Superb Connectivity
- Start with its 3 analog inputs (one suitable as a digital stereo AES/EBU input) and 6 analog outputs. You get maximum flexibility in just one rack space. Superb high-end AKM® 24-bit/96 kHz A/D and D/A converters give you ultimate signal integrity and an extreme dynamic range of 113 dB. Easy connection of external digital signals with sampling rates from 32 to 96 kHz is a breeze with the integrated sample rate converter. There are precise dynamic EQs for level-dependent equalization and extremely musical parametric EQs, selectable for all inputs and outputs, and “Zero”-attack limiters on all output channels guarantee optimal signal and loudspeaker protection.
Modus Operandi
- You also get 4 different mono and stereo output operating modes, all with individual crossover filter types (Butterworth, Bessel and Linkwitz-Riley) with selectable roll-off characteristics from 6 to 48 dB/octave. The delays for all inputs and outputs are adjustable. This allows you to manually or automatically correct for room temperature, phase and arrival time differences. An additional sum signal is easily derived from the A/B/C inputs
Future Ready
- Now that remote control has become such a hot topic, you’ll be glad the future-proof ULTRADRIVE PRO software enables single or multi remote control via PC through RS-232 and RS-485 interfaces. And the link option via RS-485 network interface enables cascading of several ULTRADRIVE PROs. A Windows®-based editing software is available for download free of charge. No matter what the future brings, its open architecture assures easy software updates. A PCMCIA slot allows you to store all your settings and recall them anytime you change the location—virtually taking your ULTRADRIVE PRO with you.

The DCX2496 remote editor software V1.16a for Windows®2000 or Windows XP® is now available for download. This version ensures stable operation of the editor software when using an external USB-RS232 adapter. Note - this version no longer runs under Windows® 98

1.) The DCX2496 features three 6-segment LED displays (plus CLIP AND MUTE LED) for precise level adjustment of input signals A-C
2.) If the input stage is overdriven,the CLIP LED will indicate that the signal is distorting
3.) The bottom LED is the MUTE LED (red) which illuminates when the respective input is muted.
4.) These are the input channel buttons,which allow you to activate specific functions from the selected menus (e.g MUTE)
5.) The DISPLAY shows all the menus available for preset editing
6.) Use these buttons to call up the DCX2496 menus.The only exception is the COMPARE button,which allows you to compare the edits made with the previously selected presets.
7.) The PAGE buttons select single pages from one menu
8.) Individual parameters can be selected with the PARAM buttons
9.) The data wheel allows you to edit the selected parameters
10.) With the OK and CANCEL buttons you can either confirm or cancel ant settings made
11.) The PCMCIA card slot is used to exchange files between your DCX2496 and a PC card with a flash memory
12.) Outputs 1-6 each have a six 5-segment LED display showing the respective output levels
13.) Like the input stages,the output stages should not be overdriven
14.) The LIMIT LED illuminates when the limiter for the corresponding output has been activated and is operating
15.) The bottom LED indicator is the MUTE LED,which illuminates as soon as the corresponding output is muted
16.) Output channel buttons,with which you can enter the outputs 1-6 or mute or reactivate individual outputs in MUTE mode
Rear Panel Features:
18.) This is the FUSE HOLDER of your DCX2496.Blown fuses must be replaced by a fuse of the same type and rating
19.) The mains connection is an IEC receptacle.An appropriate power cord is included
20.) The 9-pin RS-232 interface allows you to connect pur DCX2496 to a computer
21.) When you have daisy-chained several ULTRADRIVE PRO via the LINK connectors.
