Panel Features:

1. Browser Knob – Rotate the knob to cycle through foldersand tracks. When a folder is selected, press the knob to enter it. (Press BACKto move up to the previous level.)

2. Load – Press one of these buttons while a track isselected to assign it to Deck 1 or 2, respectively, in the software.

3. Back – Cycles between the file structure and the musiclibrary in the software.

4. Shift – Allows multiple control commands to be triggeredwhen pressed and held first along with other buttons.

5. Play/Pause – Starts and suspends playback.

6. Headphone Cue – Sends pre-fader audio to the Cue Channelfor headphone monitoring through your computer.

7. Cue (Transport Control) – Sets and recalls the main Cuepoint in the current track. Hold down the CUE button for temporary play of thecue point. The track will play for as long as the button is held down andreturn to the cue point once it is released.

8. Platter/Jog Wheel – This capacitive, touch-sensitive jogwheel controls the audio when the wheel is touched and moved. When the Scratchbutton is not active, use the wheel to bend the pitch of the track. When the Scratchbutton is active, use the wheel to grab and move the audio,"scratching" the track as you would with a vinyl record. You can alsograb the non-touch-sensitive outer wheel to bend the pitch of the track.

9. Scratch – Controls the behavior of the platters. When notactive, the platter will function as Pitch Bend. When active, the platter willhave the ability to scratch.

10. Pitch Fader – Controls the tempo (speed) of theindividual decks.

11. Pitch Bend - – Press and hold to momentarily reduce thespeed of the track.

12. Pitch Bend + – Press and hold to momentarily increasethe speed of the track.

13. Sync – Enables BPM syncing between decks for thesoftware tracks. To manually adjust BPM and exit Sync mode move the pitch faderof the deck you wish to adjust.

14. Effect Control – Adjusts the effect parameter in thesoftware of the last activated effect. Hold Shift + FX Control to select theeffect.

15. Filter – This knob will adjust the amount of Filter.Turning the knob left and right will produce a Low Pass Filter or High PassFilter.

16. Loop In – Press this pad to set the beginning of a loopwhen in Looping Mode. After a Loop Out point is set and this button is pressedagain, it will return the playback marker to the Loop In point. Pressing Shift+ Loop  In will set the current Pad Modeas “Looping Mode”. See the PAD MODE COMMANDS section for information on thispad’s additional functions.

17. Loop Out – Press this pad to set the end of a loop whenin Looping Mode. When this button is pressed again after a Loop Out point hasbeen set, it will exit out of the loop. Pressing Shift + Loop Out will set thecurrent pad mode to “Sample (S)” Mode. See the PAD MODE COMMANDS section forinformation on this pad’s additional functions.

18. Reloop – When this is pressed inside a Loop, this willturn the loop off. If a loop has not been set, this button will create a loopfrom the start of the song or where Loop In was pressed. Pressing Shift +Reloop will set the current pad mode to “Hot Cue Mode”. See the PAD MODECOMMANDS section for information on this pad’s additional functions.

19. Loop x1/2 – Press this pad to reduce the currentlyplaying loop length by half when in Looping Mode. If a loop is not playing,this will set the autoloop length. Hold Shift + Loop 1/2 to double the looplength. See the PAD MODE COMMANDS section for information on this pad’sadditional functions.

 20. FX 1 On/Off –Turns FX 1 on and off per deck. Hold Shift + FX 1 to set and start playback ofa 1-beat autoloop.

21. FX 2 On/Off – Turns FX 2 on and off per deck. Hold Shift+ FX 2 to set and start playback of a 2-beat autoloop.

22. FX 3 On/Off – Turns FX 3 on and off per deck. Hold Shift+ FX 3 to set and start playback of a 4-beat autoloop.

23. Reset – Press this pad to reset the filter. Hold Shift +Reset to set and start playback of a 16-beat autoloop.

24. Channel Volume – Adjusts the volume of the individualchannels in the software.

25. Master Volume – Adjusts the volume of the master mixcoming from the software.

26. Crossfader – Controls the blend between the two decks.

27. High EQ – Controls the treble frequencies for theindividual channels.

28. Mid EQ – Controls the mid range frequencies for theindividual channels.

29. Low EQ – Controls the bass frequencies for theindividual channels.

30. Cue Gain – Adjusts the volume for headphone cueing inthe software.

31. Cue Mix – Adjusts the software’s audio output to theheadphones, mixing between the cue output and the master mix output.

32. Stutter – Press this button while the music is playingto jump back to the last set cue point, creating a "stutter"  effect.

 

MIXTRACK II AND VIRTUALDJ LE SETUP

  • WINDOWS

Before you can begin using Mixtrack II with your computer,install the VirtualDJ LE software:

1. Insert the installation disc into your computer's CD-ROMdrive. (Free updates to the VirtualDJ LE software are available online at www.virtualdj.com. We recommend checkingthe website for the latest version of VirtualDJ LE before installing it on your computer.)

2. Open the CD to view its contents.

3. Open the folder titled "PC."

4. Double-click "Install Virtual DJ LE v7.3 PC.msi.”

5. Select your preferred language and when done press"OK."

6. Read the information screen then press "Next."

7. Read the User Agreement, select "I accept theagreement," then click "Next."

8. You will be asked to choose a location to install. (Werecommend using the default location for most users.) Once you have selected the location, click "Next."

9. The installation procedure will begin. Follow theon-screen instructions.

10. Once the installation is complete, click"Finish."

To start using Mixtrack II:

1. Connect Mixtrack II to an available USB port on yourcomputer. (If possible, use a USB port on the rear panel of your computer.)

2. Open VirtualDJ LE by double-clicking the icon on yourcomputer's Desktop (if you created a Desktop shortcut) or by going to Start f All Programs f VirtualDJ.

  • MAC

Before you can begin using Mixtrack II with your computer,install the VirtualDJ LE software:

1. Insert the installation disc into your computer's CD-ROMdrive. (Free updates to the VirtualDJ LE software are available online at www.virtualdj.com. We recommend checkingthe website for the latest version of VirtualDJ LE before installing it on your computer.)

2. Open the CD to view its contents.

3. Open the folder titled "Mac."

4. Double-click "Install Virtual DJ LE v7.3 Mac.pkg.”

5. Once you see the installer welcome screen, click"Continue."

6. Read the User Agreement, select "I accept theagreement," then click "Continue," then "Agree."

7. You will be asked to choose a location to install. Bydefault, your hard disk will be selected. (We recommend using this for most users.) Once you have selected thelocation, click "Install" to begin the installation.

8. Enter your password and click "OK."

9. Once the installation is complete, click"Close."

To start using Mixtrack II:

1. Connect Mixtrack II to an available USB port on yourcomputer. (If possible, use a USB port on the rear panel of your computer.)

2. Open VirtualDJ LE by going to Applications f VirtualDJ.
