7. Platter/Jog Wheel – This capacitive, touch-sensitive jog wheel controls the audio when the wheel is touched and moved. When the Scratch button is inactive, use the wheel to bend the pitch of the track. When the Scratch button is active, use the wheel to grab and move the audio, "scratching" the track as you would with a vinyl record. You can also grab the non-touch-sensitive outer wheel to bend the pitch of the track.

8. Scratch – Controls the behavior of the platters. When inactive, moving the platter will bend the pitch of the track. When active, moving the platter will "scratch" the track. Press Shift + Pitch Bend - to enter Slip Mode.

9. Pitch Fader – Controls the tempo (speed) of the individual decks.

13. Layer – Switches the hardware deck's control between the two decks in the software. Mixtrack Quad's left deck can control VirtualDJ's Deck 1 or Deck 3, while the right deck selects Deck 2 and Deck 4. The LED’s under the platter will change color to indicate which layer that the deck is currently controlling. Press Shift + Layer to enter Color Selection mode.
